Natalie Closner

Natalie Closner is a singer-songwriter best known as a founding member of the acclaimed Portland indie-folk band JOSEPH. With a voice that’s both powerful and deeply intimate, Natalie has spent the past decade performing on stages from living rooms to major festivals, earning a devoted following through heartfelt songwriting and soaring harmonies. For this special River Sessions performance, she’ll take the stage solo, offering an evening of stripped-back songs, stories, and the unmistakable voice that first brought JOSEPH to life.

Blair Borax

Portland singer-songwriter Blair Borax writes tender folk-pop songs for tender folk—music that helps us feel a little less alone. Blending intimate storytelling with a voice that is at once playful, vulnerable, and deeply expressive, she draws inspiration from artists like Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Regina Spektor, Haley Heynderickx, and Adrienne Lenker while creating a sound that is distinctly her own. Since leaving her career as an elementary school teacher to pursue music full time, Borax has toured extensively across the country, earned recognition from MusicOregon, and built a devoted following through songs that explore heartbreak, healing, self-discovery, and hope with remarkable honesty. Her acclaimed sophomore album, Tender Lately, established her as one of the Pacific Northwest’s most compelling emerging songwriters, and her next album The Color Green, is a new collection of songs that continues her thoughtful exploration of what it means to grow, let go, and stay openhearted in an increasingly complicated world.
